01

Codex is for building software; Yast is for running the business around it

OpenAI’s Codex CLI (and related Codex surfaces) targets developers: sandboxes, patches, tests, and review workflows tied to a repository. Yast targets durable processes—scheduled syncs, triage, reporting, customer follow-ups—that touch many SaaS systems. Pick Codex when the artifact is code; pick Yast when the artifact is an updated CRM, ticket, or invoice.

02

Integration surface area

Yast is designed around a large catalog of business integrations so one agent can span tools your GTM and ops teams already use. Codex can integrate via MCP and APIs, but the product narrative is engineering throughput, not no-code orchestration across hundreds of SaaS apps.

03

Model strategy

Codex is tightly aligned with OpenAI’s stack—ideal if you standardize on that ecosystem. Yast lets you route agents across multiple providers so you can match model to task or policy.

04

Honest overlap

Both can touch GitHub or developer tools for specific steps. Yast is still not a replacement for a local coding agent when your bottleneck is IDE-speed iteration inside a large repo.

Self-improving agents that just work.

Describe what you need. Yast builds the agent, connects your tools, runs it on autopilot, and it gets smarter every time.
